I was scared. I knew I was going to pitch A Cup of Ashes, but I wasn't sure if I could do it without pulling a total choke and just staring at the person. Or worse yet babbling incoherently about coffee and ashes.
Thankfully neither happened. I have to thank Tim Waggoner for that. If you haven't read him, go pick up one of his novels. He has got to be the kindest, most welcoming person I've ever met.
Yes, I pitched my book to Jennifer at Raw Dog Screaming Press and she asked for the whole manuscript! I was stunned and just couldn't wipe the grin off my face. Jennifer was great. She asked me questions and let me ask some as well. It was almost like telling a friend about my book.
Back to Tim Waggoner though. He put in a good word for me with TOR. I am beyond grateful for his belief in me. Please buy his books!
